Fei-Ying USB not seen by Heli-X 8 [GONE AWAY]

I have a Fei-Ying USB interface which works for other simulators. I can see it and calibrate it with joy.cpl. However, Heli-X 8 doesn't see it.
I thought any interface that could be seen by joy.cpl would work with Heli-X. Is that not correct? What may I be doing wrong?
TIA,
Paolo
[Edit: see later post - another day, it worked fine and I could set it up]

While there might not be a response to the specific question about the Fei-Ying, what about the highlighted, general question? It must be true or false (or "it depends")...

Hi, you are using windows? Then the devices hast to be seen as a game controller / joystick.
Souyou should be able to calbaret it in the windows systems settings.
Do you get any messages from HELI-X? (Which version)?

I was and am using the latest v8.
I went through the steps to report what was happening and surprise surprise, it started working! Even before, I could calibrate it in Joy.cpl but could not use it in Heli-X 8!
All seems OK now. It must have taken your questions to fool it into working...
Still, the answer to my question If it's in joy.cpl then Heli-X should see it and be able to use it, yes?
