1862

Post by Michael » 30 Dec 2018 16:27

You may update to Revision 1862.

New:
- Changes in the shader and collision algorithms for 3d scenes.
- A first prototype of a new scene Plane Flying Field is available for download.
- The problems during the download of the airports should be fixed.
- Status bar for planes should work.
- Norwegian finished

Still open:
- preview pictures for some planes
- friction factors of planes to be edited
- mentioned problems for fullscreen is very difficult to be solved: The graphcis adapter tells the OS which resolutions are available but some of them seem not to work. The work around is testing which resolutions work.

Thank you for your feedback.

- Airport download problems fixed (tested with Debian 9 GNU/Linux)
- Status bar for planes almost fixed

Issues:
- Status bar for heli shows unit Hz for yaw (should show angle in degrees?)
- rev/min. for some planes too high.

- Wheel friction of the 3D plane-flying-field is higher (intended feature?)
- Extra 300 and others: "FPV/pilots view" leads to a view to the nose of the plane.
- Stearman's start position is over the runway.

Regarding my issue to connect to the server, and join a session, the trick was to add my local IP address to the /etc/hosts file. No need to open UDP/TCP ports neither on my host nor on the DSL router. Thank you Michael for the hint.

I posted on the main forum about full screen issues. If the resolution in Heli-x is not set to the same resolution as the OS the problems start because Heli-x will change the resolution on the switch to full screen. I would usually loose sound because I am using sound through HDMI. Once I made sure Heli-x and OS resolution are set the same I no longer had issues with full screen. If anyone is using DVI or Display Link are there still full screen issues?

Same full screen issues on Ubuntu as for V7. Frequency in general options goes from 50 Hz in highest resolution to 68 Hz in lowest one. When switching to full screen in high resolution (50 Hz) an error occuers.

handleError
SCHWERWIEGEND o 22:55:25 Uncaught exception thrown in Thread[jME3 Main,6,main]
java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to find fullscreen display mode matching settings

Version 6 does not show this issue.

Best regards,
Chris
