1876

Post by Michael » 04 Jan 2019 22:47

You may update to 1876.

Changes:
please update these helicopters (AS Super Puma, Bel 222, Gaui R5, KA50, TDR2) and the Plane Flying Field.
Changes:
- Helicopters with retractable gear are treated correctly, in particular with the flaps HUD
- The friction of the grass in the plane flying filed is reduced
- Some hidden debug output is removed
- In the detail window, the zoom is corrected
- In seldom cases, HELI-X freezes when the airport is changed. This should be fixed. Please report, when there are problems.

Menu "Traing/Flugzeuge" shows "Heck-Training" for Helicopters. Does not make sense here?

After a first short test of the planes:

- The wind noise is too strong.
- Standard Setting. In general, aileron too sensitive elevation too weak
- SAB Tortuga has smoke!? Nice but.....is electro.

Electric planes produce motorsounds at very little throttle inputs. But the prop doesn't start spinning until 10% throttle input (-80 in the „Controller Configuration“ window) it also seems like no thrust is produced until 10% throttle. => This results in an unrealistic feeling while taxiing at low speeds because you hear the motor but neither the prop nor the Plane starts moving.
(Tested with Mac OS Mojave and a RX2SIM adapter)

Cosmetic changes for planes:
- Remove the word "Cyclic" in "Cyclic Nick", "Cyclic Roll" etc. within the Flight Mode Configuration dialog.
- Collective Pitch makes no sense (or is there a hidden feature I missed)
- Gyro Configuration (Gain might be possible for ailerons, but does HH make sense?)
- Tab "Auto rotation" can be made hidden or disabled.
- Curve Selection is related to helis, Consider providing curves especially for planes.

Issue related to flap positions:
- From the "Controller Configuration / Key Assignment Window", one can select "Landing flaps 0", "Landing flaps 1", "Landing flaps 2", and "Landing flaps 3". I assigned keys A, S, D, and F for this purpose. But position F (full flaps) does not work. It is not shown in HUDs "Show flaps", and not at the models flaps (tested with Trojan). Key shortcut "Next landing flap" does not trigger "full flaps" either.

  • The FPV (Pilots View) of the "Edge540v3_FC" is placed a lot higher than the plane.
  • At least on my Computer the Tortuga has a small control issue: It feels like there is some kind of small rudder input which changes the direction in regular intervals (you can recognize it very clearly at full throttle and in FPV mode. The slip meter also indicates the turns). Important: This rudder input is not a real input and is not shown by the stick display. The issue just feels like a rudder input.

It makes sense, but the explanation was missing. Fixed in 1886.

Sound of electric planes should be corrected in 1886

Flight mode window updated accordingly. However, auto rotation is still there. This is an issue for the version 8.1

The number of flap positions is due to the settings in the models. Currently there is no model with "flap 3"
