Interface Poll/Umfrage

Post by Michael »

Hello,

I'd like to coollect you experiences with the hardware. May I ask you to send your configuartion (maybe with comments) in this thread. I'll collect them so that all user can get information from this.

Please sent:

operating system, interface, transmitter, HELI-X version, where did you buy the interface, comments/problems

Thank you!
------------------- deutsch -----------------
Danke!

Bitte schreibt:

Betriebssystem, Interface, Sender, HELI-X-Version, Bezugsquelle für das Interface, Kommentare/Probleme

Vielen Dank

Betriebssystem: Windows 8.1 64bit - 8GB RAM, GraKa GForce GTX 760
Probleme: keine - funzt prächtig, macht genau was es soll ...

operating system, interface, transmitter, HELI-X version, where did you buy the interface,

Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt4-2 (2015-01-27) x86_64 GNU/Linux
GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST
KDE
JR Propo XG-6
Helix-5
USB Simulator Cable XTR/AeroFly/FMS Funfly PRODUCT ID: XTR01 ($5.50 at HobbyKing)

Works OK, no issues with hardware. Found a script to boost Nvidia fanspeed, nvidiafanspeed.py, and I edited to script to set the fan speed to kick in at a much lower temp.

Code: Select all

	curve_point_array = [[10, 5],
							 [20, 20],
							 [40, 50],
							 [50, 99],
							 [60, 99],
							 [66, 99],
							 [70, 99],
							 [100, 100]]

- PC hardware: Intel i7 quad-core CPU, GeForce GTX 750Ti, 12MB RAM
- operating system: Win7 64bit
- interface/transmitter: IKARUS GameCommander 4ch USB (came with AeroFly 4 SE)
- HELI-X version: v4 - v6
- comments/problems: No problems at all, runs smooth, flawless installations for all versions incl. betas and several new installs from scratch

for modelling helis or scenes (in case someone is looking for the hint):
- 3D program: Blender 2.7 (free, http://www.blender.org/)
- Paint prog: very old Photoshop 5, Paint.NET (getpaint.net/)
- Vector drawing: InkScape (free, https://inkscape.org), for flat shapes like frame plates, fins etc., easy to import to Blender for extruding

operating system: Win XP-32, Win7-32, Win7-64, Ubuntu 12.04, Ubuntu 14.04

interface E-Sky EK2-0905a (USB transmitter specially made for simulator training) Mode 2, can be converted to Mode 1
HELI-X version v4, v5, v6
bought online back in 2012 (don't know if it's still available)

comments/problems: only 4 channels, ratchet for Throttle/Pitch was too intense, had to flatten the slider nose with a nail file to achieve smooth pitch movement, not the best stick feeling, but really reliable, can be operated completely without dead band

Betriebssystem: Windows 7 Home Premium 64
Hardware: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T - 3,2 GHz, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti, Samsung SSD 840 EVO 1TB ATA Device
Software: Heli-X 5
Sender: Spektrum DX6i

PC: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz × 2, 8 GiB, GeForce 8800 GT
Operating system: ubuntu 14.10, kernel 3.16.0-30-generic 64-bit
Interface:
nuuka@mypc:~$ echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP
Unity
nuuka@mypc:~$ pgrep -l compiz |cut -d " " -f2
compiz
cable: mini USB - USB
Transmitter: FrSky Taranis Plus
HELI-X version: 5.0.1405
Comments: Great simulator.
Problems:
Hover training rotation speed seems to be 180 degrees per minute instead of 360 per minute
The frames per second performance drops gradually from 150+ to less than 60 when used simultaneously with other programs. I guess there is a memory fragmentation problem. Shutting all programs and logging out and relogging helps. With fps less than 60 the flying comes difficult due to missing frames and jerky movement.
In order to successfully record e.g. with SimpleScreenRecorder the openGL Maximum FPS from the Global Settings shall be dropped to 60 or less.
Proposals:
Sometimes when learning new 3D maneuvers the slow motion doesn't feel like an optimal training help. Maybe an option to decrease the gravity would be better.
The collective training could be better if it were possible to set an envelope (lower and higher flying limits) for flying + indication how close one is flying to the limits.
More small helicopter options like Blade MCP X BL, Blade Nano CP X, Hisky HCP 100S, Hisky HCP 80 V2, Align TREX 150 would be nice. For visibility for small helicopters an indoor environment with good fps would be nice (the current 3D SportsHall fps performance is bad).

USB RC-Flugsimulator VII, 4-Kanal von Modelcraft ( Conrad )
Betriebssystem:
Windows 8.1 pro 32-Bit
Hardware:
AMD Athlon X2 250 3GHz,
4GB Ram Arbeitsspeicher,
AMD Radeon HD 6570 2GB

Heli-X Version 5.0.1405
