My taranis on Heli X

I would like to train myself to become a better multirotor pilot so i am using a taranis and i both try with a Jr to usb and with the usb cable provided by taranis ( the mini usb ( the one to upgrade firmware and so on ) ) ) but i can get the imput on the remote controller moving ... i spend hours on it and cant figure it out. On internet i didnt find any proper tuto and i just configured a new template with the RF Off and put it into slave mode am i wrong ? please help me to get this work thx in advance
